(#619) PET-FRIENDLY MARKETING

Being pet-friendly (and marketing it) will never go out of style. The pet industry has reached an estimated $103 billion in 2020 and shows no sign of slowing. Yes - that’s a lot! So it’s no wonder we’ve dedicated a full foundational to help our members focus on pet-friendly marketing.

BRING IT TO LIFE

  1. Grab your design.

  2. Purchase some pet treats, goodie bags, and crinkle wrap.

  3. Attach your design to the goodie bags and then hit the road and visit as many businesses within a 5-10 mile radius as you can! Think about peak dog-walking times and surrounding parks, too!

Do more than just say you are pet friendly. Show it.

Here are a few favorite ideas that we LOVE!

  1. Ok, hear me out… Dog topiaries. They start at $49, and how fun would it be to have one of these pup topiaries outside a front door with a bright red collar, a leash attached to it, and a water bowl that says "Fido is always welcome."

  2. Deck out your model apartments. Use little pet food trays in your model apartments, or pet beds and leashes by the door. These are pretty ridiculously cute 😉Make your prospects imagine not only themselves in a new home, but their fur baby, too!

At the end of the day, people are going to remember what they see more than what you say. So make sure visually you show that you are pet-friendly - and in a memorable way.

Each generation has their own reasons for having pets and you’ll need to keep them all in mind:

  • Boomers - They need companionship! Aside from now living in an apartment, maybe without a spouse now… they likely will still have a pet to take care of.

  • Gen X - Recent or soon to be empty nesters - who may fill that space? A pet! A quieter home may mean they are ready for a little more excitement.

  • Millenials - They are getting married a little later, maybe buying houses later, and keep their pets as their “kids”! Their furry babies are just like real ones.

get creative with the way that you talk - and email prospects

Having a Bark Park is cute. What’s the problem? EVERYONE has a bark park.

Having the largest social pet-work in town? That’s creative and it’ll catch people’s eyes. Instead of a social network, it's the largest social pet-work. Something fun, something silly.
