Scoop the Poop REMINDERS: Like You've Never Seen THEM Before

Poo got you down? Being pet-friendly has its perks, but it can definitely leave you with a stinker of a problem- you know what we mean! Find out what to do when your residents aren't doing their duty (pun intended) and how to let them know that the poo pick-up fairy doesn't live there.

"I don't poop flowers!" Fun taglines go a long way. Not only do they bring attention to important matters, they also come across in a friendly or witty way (build that brand!). You can even implement these taglines into your newsletters and resident portals.

The more pet-friendly your community is, the more pet poo seems to accumulate. And once you have one violator, everyone seems to catch on and it can poo-ball in a hurry! Consistent reminders are critical to keep this stinky problem in check.

Check out these 4 tips to fix your pet pick-up problem in the video below.

1. Post signs around your neighborhood reminding residents to pick up after their pets. This seems obvious, but it might be just the reminder that’s needed. Consider leaving bandits in the trouble areas, as well as posting flyers in public spaces.

2. Purchase large quantities of the dog poo bags. Having them available at the leasing office, resident events, or in stations throughout the community can really help!

3. What to do with a bag of poo? Help by making sure there are accessible trash cans throughout the community for easy disposal.

4. No one likes poo on the shoe. Send out a notice through your resident portal, email or on your social pages. Don’t forget to thank the ones you see cleaning up after their pets. A little thank you can go a long way!
