We’ve all heard the expression “Kill two birds with one stone,” but I prefer the more animal-friendly versions:

  • Flutter two hearts with one look.

  • Water two plants with one hose.

  • Mash two potatoes with one fork.

You get the picture. The goal: To accomplish two tasks with only one effort.

That’s why we love the full-circle approach.

How does it work?

The rule is what you are doing on the outside (in other words: your marketing) you have to bring to life on the inside (think: your retention strategy).

It’s really simple once you get the method in mind.

  • Pick a theme for the month.

It’s September, so we’ll focus on Better Breakfast Month.

  • What might you do on the outside: Pick up donuts (obviously a better breakfast option) and visit some of your local businesses for an outreach marketing effort.

  • While you’re at it, grab enough donuts for a simple “grab-a-donut-and-run”  resident appreciation event. Who doesn’t want an after-school or after- work donut just because.  OR while you’re doing outreach, deliver some of those additional donuts to a resident’s work and include a referral initiative.

  • One trip to your grocery store, two checkmarks towards your marketing & retention efforts.

As onsite teams you all TWO things in common:

  • You have big occupancy and retention goals to hit

  • You never have enough time

So by implementing the full-circle approach method you literally expand your efforts. That’s what we call a DOUBLE WIN!
